Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to the website for St Chad’s Church of England Primary School.  We hope to use this website as one element of communication in our drive to fulfil our mission ‘To work in partnership to educate, nurture and empower.’ We hope the website will enable you to discover the ways in which St Chad’s Church of England Primary stretches pupils academically, supports them pastorally and helps them to develop socially and spiritually.

At Abbey Multi Academy Trust we are passionate about making a difference to the lives of all our children. They are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to inspire learners and change their lives as a result of our educational provision. We want all our schools to be the best they can be and for each child to discover the skills, abilities, talents and interests that lie within them as well as giving them safety, security and the skills they will need to be active, responsible citizens and happy, caring adults in the future.  Our aim, quite simply, is to do the very best for children and recognise their individuality and uniqueness.  Childhood is a special and wonderful time and no-one gets a second chance at it.

As a Church of England school, St Chad’s CE Primary, provides faithful education for everyone and does so alongside the teaching of the National Curriculum and life in Modern Britain. At St. Chad’s, everyone is listened to and their contributions valued. Our very successful Ofsted and SIAMs Inspections highlighted the school’s many strengths and excellent qualities and these are available for you to view on our key information page.

The primary and secondary schools within Abbey Multi Academy Trust are prepared to truly collaborate. The schools have a desire to question, change and innovate to ensure that what they provide enables our children to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

We work as active partners both formally, as part of our growing Multi Academy Trust and informally, in the collaborative work we do with the Diocese, local universities, local and national business and our local community.

I welcome you to explore our website or visit our academy where you can learn more about our aim to work in partnership to educate, nurture and empower.

Mrs Helen Pratten

Co-CEO / Executive Principal

At St. Chad’s C of E Primary school our mission: “In the light of God; we care, we share, we laugh, we learn” is central to everything we do. We are an inclusive school where at the heart of St. Chad’s Education is the development of the character of each child. As a Christian school our curriculum promotes the development of key Christian values linked to civic, moral and performance outcomes. Our Christian values are fully aligned with British values. This mirrors the Church of England’s vision for an education which promotes “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).

St. Chads is a warm and welcoming school, full of children who are eager to learn supported by talented teachers and support staff. We have high aspirations and expectations for every one of our pupils and all our staff are committed to providing the highest quality of education to ensure every child has the opportunity to achieve and succeed. Through creative, engaging and relevant learning experiences we aim to embed a love of learning.

The children at St. Chads are amazing and it is a privilege to work with them every day. Our young people continually impress the adults in school with their academic achievements and their personal, social and spiritual development. We place huge importance on Pupil Voice and encourage our children to play an active role in school-life, offering their ideas and taking on responsibilities within the school community.  Children are encouraged to build an understanding of social responsibility and their role within a Global community.

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. We take our partnership with parents very seriously and through collaboration, will work with you to achieve the best possible outcomes for your child. We hope that our website will provide you with an insight into the distinctive nature of St. Chads and the many opportunities children are given to allow them to grow into well-informed, well-rounded and socially responsible individuals. Please do not hesitate to contact us to for further information or to arrange school visits.
